1. Seller
The seller and operator of this online shop is František Sittek, trading as Truhlárna Pod Brdy, business registration number 88504913, with its registered address at K Trnové 80, 252 02 Jíloviště, Czech Republic. Contact email: info@truhlarnapodbrdy.cz, phone: 774 636 138. The seller is not VAT registered.
2. Scope of these terms
These terms and conditions govern purchases through the Truhlárna Pod Brdy online shop. Different terms for bespoke work may be agreed individually in a quotation or contract.
3. Products and bespoke work
Most products are made after an order is placed. Natural variations in grain, shade and colour may occur in wood; these are not defects where consistent with the nature of the material. The main characteristics, options and estimated production time are stated for each product.
Customised goods include, in particular, items made to individual dimensions, personalised by engraving or otherwise made to the buyer’s specific requirements. The fact that a standard product is made only after an order is placed does not in itself exclude the right of withdrawal.
4. Orders and formation of the contract
The buyer adds goods to the basket, selects delivery and payment, and submits the order using a button indicating an obligation to pay. The buyer may review and correct the details before submission. The seller confirms receipt electronically. The purchase contract is formed when the seller confirms the order, unless otherwise agreed for bespoke work.
Before confirming an order, the seller may check material availability, technical feasibility, delivery arrangements for large items or production time. If the order cannot be fulfilled, the seller will contact the buyer and refund any payment received.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are stated in Czech crowns and are final. The seller is not VAT registered. Delivery costs are shown in the basket or quoted individually for large items. Available payment methods are shown at checkout. A deposit may be required for bespoke work; its amount and due date will be stated before production begins.
6. Delivery
Smaller goods are delivered by the carrier selected at checkout. For large items, the delivery method and price are stated on the product page; assembly is included only where expressly stated. Production time is stated on the product page or confirmed after receipt of the order. The buyer must provide accurate contact and delivery details and inspect the shipment on receipt.
7. Consumer’s right to withdraw
Consumers generally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason within 14 days of receiving the goods. Notice may be sent to the seller’s email or postal address. The consumer must then send back or hand over the goods within 14 days of withdrawal. The consumer bears the direct cost of returning the goods.
The seller will refund payments received, including the cost of the least expensive delivery option offered, within 14 days of withdrawal. The seller may withhold the refund until receiving the goods or evidence that they have been sent back. The consumer is liable for any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the goods’ nature and characteristics.
The right of withdrawal does not apply, in particular, to goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised, such as items in individual dimensions or with personalised engraving.
8. Defective goods and complaints
The seller is responsible to the consumer for ensuring that the goods are free from defects on receipt and have the agreed characteristics. Complaints may be made by email, phone or at the seller’s address. The buyer should provide the order number, describe the defect and supply appropriate evidence of it. The seller will confirm receipt of the complaint and resolve it without undue delay, within 30 days for consumers unless the parties agree otherwise.
Rights relating to defective goods do not cover normal wear and tear, damage caused by incorrect use or maintenance, or natural characteristics of wood that do not constitute defects.
9. Out-of-court dispute resolution
The Czech Trade Inspection Authority is the competent body for out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes: Štěpánská 44, 110 00 Prague 1, Czech Republic. Website: coi.gov.cz.
10. Personal data protection
Information on the processing of personal data is provided on the separate Privacy policy page.
11. Final provisions
Legal relations are governed by the law of the Czech Republic, in particular the Civil Code and the Consumer Protection Act. This does not affect the consumer’s rights under mandatory legal provisions. These terms take effect on 22 September 2026.
